What’s ‘social action’ and what’s so important about CyberMentors?
As you may have already heard, Beatbullying has received £1.3 million from the Government's Social Action Fund. It will create a new not-for-profit organisation, We're Altogether Better, which will tackle social issues digitally, through recruiting more volunteers to support more people. We’d like your help in thinking about what’s important and unique about CyberMentors so we can use this to carry out even more great work.
So whether you’re a user, CyberMentor or Senior CyberMentor, please join our webchat on Wednesday 1st February at 5pm.

Beatbullying is changing! |
TODAY Nick Hurd MP, who is the Minister for Civil Society, announces that £1.3 million from the Government's Social Action Fund has been given to Beatbullying so that it can create a new not-for-profit organisation, We're Altogether Better, which will tackle social issues digitally.
We're Altogether Better is run by the same team behind Beatbullying, which was established in 2002 and has been getting Government support for its pioneering anti-bullying work and the work that you do as CyberMentors.
Using this funding, up to half a million children and young people will be supported through the new organisation, and nearly ten thousand new volunteers will be recruited to significantly increase the support available to the most vulnerable in society. As the new organisation grows, millions of the most vulnerable and at risk young people across the UK will be supported.
This investment will help us to publicly launch and expand our online mentoring and advice services, like CyberMentors, but also FutureYou and MiniMentors. We will also create a major new service for families, and a programme to support people with mental health issues, for launch in 2012-13.
